Tutorial: Fall 2011 Look- Inspired by Beyonce

Hello my dear makeup friends!
Oh how I have missed this blog! I know it has been a while since I have posted, but I am back. I have been super busy in both my professional life and my personal life. Between motherhood, purchasing and remodeling a new house, going back into the workforce, and a million other things, I have abandoned my blog. Eleni has been holding down the fort while I was gone, and she has done a fabulous job. I know you all enjoyed her super cute looks. Okay, enough with the blabber, I know you will forgive me. I finally took pictures of a look and I can't wait to share it with you. 


I, along with probably all makeup bloggers out there, fell in love with the makeup looks in Beyonce's new video "Countdown." Here is my own version of one of the looks in the video. I used colors that compliment my complexion, so don't expect an exact copy, this is just inspired by it.

Elegant Voluminous Bun Tutorial (5 minutes)

I wanted to share with you all this elegant bun I created for work. As a few of you may know, I'm completing my Special Education internship this semester. I'm teaching seven autistic boys in second and third grade. So you can only imagine how busy I am! Today I was observed on a science lesson; so of course, I wanted to look extra nice. Did I mention I LOVE MY BOYS!? Anyways...I find this look appropriate for work, parties, and/or events! This classic bun is a great way to add class and sophistication to your style.

Everday Summer Eye Looks

Summer is ending soon, so I wanted to post 3 easy summer looks that I created using Smashbox Photo Op Eye Enhancing Palette and Urban Decay's eyeliners. This small palette is great for everyday looks or to pack away for a vacation getaway. Smashbox Photo Op Eye Enhancing Palette is specifically designed for brown eyed girls, so you are guaranteed a pretty look! But don't worry my blue and green eyed babes, Smashbox covered you girls too!

Prim & Proper Updo! (10 minutes only)

I came across this easy hair tutorial that I wanted to share with you all. This Updo only takes 10 minutes and its great for those dirty hair days. Once again no hot tools needed! I made a couple tweaks to the look just to glam it up. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Twist & Links Hair Tutorial (15 minutes)

Here's another fun easy updo that is great for any hair type. The best part was no hot tools were used! For this look I applied Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Curl Definer the day before and let my hair dry naturally. I love her products because it left my wavy hair super soft and manageable with a nice hold. Check out the updo below:

I know it has been a while since I have posted a look, but today I bring you this fun look for summer! A while back I did a look called Flower Power that became one of the favorite looks on the blog. Recently, I kept getting requests to revisit the look, and so here it is! Whenever I go away for a Summer Vacation, I try to keep my makeup as simple as possible. Now that I'm a mom, I have even less time to do my makeup and I hate to waste away time that I could be spending out having fun. This look is my go to look for the summer months. Product Review: Benefit's New Mascara "They're REAL!"...honest

Hello beautiful makeup junkies! Here's a product review for the new Benefit mascara. This product is not available in stores yet, but it is available for Sephora's VIP members. All you need is 100 beauty points to get a sample of Benefit's "They're REAL!" mascara. I was super excited when I got the email about the new mascara because I'm a big fan of their BadGal line. Ancient Ruins...Relic Eyes

Last night I was transported to a beautiful mysterious land as I listen to my new collection of World music. The album is called Garden of Eden by Mosavo. My three favorite pieces of the album are The Enchanting Harp, Black Tulip and Misirlou. The flute, drums, and harp takes you on a beautiful musical journey. During that voyage, I was inspired to create this elaborate Middle Eastern look.

GypsyNet members, Raqs sharqi, and Raqs baladi fans what's great about Middle Eastern adornment is there's no wrong way in doing it. Look at your favorite dancers and get inspired by how they do their makeup/costumes and add your own twist to it. The dots around my eyes were inspired by BDSS Ansuya. Remember this is an art, feel free... feel inspired...and let the music move your makeup brush.
