Exotic Smokey Eyes & Braided Bun

Hi!

Valeria wanted a bright smokey eye with a pop of color. I decided to use blues and purples to bring out her brown eyes. Click on to see more detailed pictures and the side braided bun I created.

Avant Garde Photo-shoot: Femininity VS Masculinity

The past two years I have been assisting Jaday in photo-shoots working with creative photographers and stylists. I enjoy preparing for the shoots and seeing their mood boards turn into reality right before my eyes. So last winter break I decided to do another photo-shoot. This shoot is completely different compared to my previous one: Frilly, Dreamy, Vintage, and Sweet

This is my favorite picture from the shoot.

Yes this is a DRAMATIC look. I enjoy applying makeup as a form of expression rather than just the beauty aspect of it. It's liberating to grab a brush and know you have no restrictions, limitations, or boundaries....

Enchanting Earth Tones

For this look I wanted to create a night look with earth tones that although simple, exuded elegance and glamour. I love how the berry lips contrast with the earthy eyeshadows.  I used the Kat Von D Ludwig palette (the review for it is in the previous post.) Scroll down for a list of products used and a Slideshow.

Review- Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette - Ludwig

Time for another review! This time we will take a look at the Kat Von Ludwig Palette. As you must know by now, I am a big fan of Kat's makeup line especially her eyeshadow palettes. This one did not disappoint.

Country Singer- Jackie Arredondo

During the MFA event I had the opportunity to do the makeup for country singer Jackie Arredondo. I'm sure most of you have heard her hit single "Someone Like You."
Jackie  is also known for training famous singer Thalia and collaborating with Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, and many more. She was also the vocal instructor for popular spanish TV shows "Protagonistas de la Musica," "Protagonistas de Novela," and "Voces de America."

Blue Again?

I guess it's no secret by now that I love blue. What can I say? I have a soft spot for blue eyeshadows. Here we have a blue smokey eye. Remember to keep the rest of your makeup light and natural when wearing blue so that you don't end up looking like you time traveled from the 80s. :)

Navy and White Look

Here is another easy makeup look that you can try to do yourself. You just need a Navy Blue eyeliner -I used Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Binge- a dark blue eyeshadow, and shimmery white eyeshadow. Those are the only three colors I used to create this look. I also used a blue mascara on the bottom lashes and a black one on the top lashes. Remember, it's all about blending to create that smoldered effect.
P.S. Navy blue is a great color for brown eyes. It brings out the warmth in the color.

Prom Look- Valentina

May is the month of Proms all around South Florida. Girls want to look extra special on this day and they buy a beautiful dress, get their hair done, and finally they want a gorgeous makeup look so that they can look flawless in all their pictures.
Here we have an example of prom makeup. Valentina just attended her Senior Prom this past weekend and she hired me to do her makeup. She wanted to look like herself, but with a little bit of drama. We decided to go for a gold, bronze, and brown smokey eye and pink nude lips. I used highlighters and bronzers to give a youthful "glow from within" look to her skin. Here is her final look:

I've got the Blues :)

Royal blue is such a fun color to wear! Blue brightens the whites of your eyes and distracts from any redness you might have on your face. Scroll down to view the products I used so that you can recreate this look.

GC Wedding...Mother of the Bride

For this look, I took my inspiration from the beautiful champagne color dress. The client wanted to emphasize the eyes with a sexy smokey eye. False lashes added the final touch of drama.

Silver, Plum, and Gray look

I created this look using mostly NYX products. I love the NYX brand, it is inexpensive and the quality is comparable to the more expensive brands. I highly recommend it. All of the products used from NYX were less than $6 each. You can't beat that price and such good quality!

Bridesmaid Makeup- Raquel

These pictures are from the Elizabeth's wedding. The bride wanted her bridesmaids to have a smoky eye that had blue in it since the bridesmaids dresses were Tiffany blue. I took into consideration the different eye and face shapes when doing the makeup, therefore they do not all look exactly the same. Thank you Elizabeth for hiring me for your special day. :)

Rock and Roll Look

This is a fun rock look I did this week. For some reason my camera was acting up so it didn't capture the colors too great and the look has a lot more glitter than the pics show. Oh well... anyway at the last minute I decided to add the Kat Von Dee stars just to make it more fun. :)
